Porous absorbers, like high-density Polyester Fiber (PET) and fabric-wrapped panels, are the frontline of internal sound control. On a microscopic level, these materials are a complex web of intertwined fibers. When sound waves hit the surface, they penetrate this porous structure.
As the air molecules vibrate within the narrow channels of the fiber, their energy is converted into a tiny amount of heat through viscous friction. This is why PET panels are so efficient at taming mid-to-high frequencies—they literally "drink" the sound.
